Just sold my 1995 FZR 600 to a really cool guy in the Navy today, and I’m on the lookout for a new project. Since I still have my truck, and the F150 for towing, I’m on the lookout for something fun to drive. If I can get ahold of a cool older car thats reliable, I may sell my Frontier, otherwise it would just be cool to pick up something sweet to cruise.
Last weekend I checked out a 1989 Corvette Convertible with 20″rims, new top, sick stereo system, 5.7 liter v8…had it negotiated down to $4000 but didn’t get my bike sold in time, so I couldn’t pull the funds together. Those old vettes have all LCD dash board displays, it looks like night rider in there. Anyway, now that its gone, I’m checking craigslist for my next project. That vette would have been sweet, but I’m sure something will turn up sooner or later.

Damn, I missed that deal by what, a couple HOURS?! I should’ve realized it though, I vaguely remember you mentioning selling it a few weeks back. Total bumskies, I really want to pick a streetbike up soon and that was exactly my price range. Oh well, I’d prefer something newer anyways I guess. Preferably something 2000+.
If you’re going to get a Vette… don’t, for the love of god, get that generation. Shell out a few thousand more and get a decent 60-mid 70’s in good shape that maybe needs an engine or something, and you can snatch for a good price. The economy is so bad right now, everyone’s hot rods are for sale. Be picky, I’m telling you! That way you’ll be crusing around in CLASSIC style and almost even be able to consider it an “investment”. An 89 Vette is nowhere near as cool as a 67 with the hard top off just cruising, no debate, it’s just fact.
You could get an older Vette shell that someone has been restoring but still needs a drivetrain and piece a badass drivetrain together on the cheap as well. We’re talking about Chevy’s here buddy. Plus I have so many friends and acquaintances with engines for sale right now, they’re everywhere, and nobody is buying them! Who wants to drive a hotrod getting 4/mpg with gas at $5 bucks a gallon?! My one buddy still has that 600HP race motor with over $5k invested, literally (seriously Evan, it’s true, LOL). That would make on beast of a daily driver :D. I guess it just depends on how cool you want to be? Ok, I’m done trying to convince you, don’t take my word for it though. Ask Chuck Norris.
